How to Play in 4 Easy Steps
-
1
Select the event number. Events are numbered and correspond with the boxes on the PROLINE In-Store selection slip. Here’s a few examples on how to select your Events:
- To pick Event #25, mark boxes 20 and 5.
- To pick Event #205, mark boxes 200 and 5.
- To pick Event #215, mark boxes 200, 10 and 5.
-
2
Choose your market. For each event, you’ll need to choose a “market,” or the type of outcome you want to bet on. For PROLINE In-Store, there are three main markets that you can now bet on individually as Single Bets, or combine in new ways into a Parlay Bet: Moneyline, Point Spread and Over/Under.
-
3
Mark your predicted outcome. Once you’ve selected a market, you’ll need to make your picks—whether team 1 or team 2 will win. You’ll need to mark the outcome for each event you selected in step 1.
-
4
Mark your ticket wager. Once you’ve made your predictions, you can wager as little as $1 or up to a maximum of $100 per bet. To calculate the potential payout of a wager, multiply the odds of each of the predicted event outcomes. Then, multiply the total odds by the amount wagered.
1. Select the event number
Choosing an event to wager on is your first step to playing PROLINE In-Store—and now you’ve got some new options. Whether you’re a fan of football, basketball or any other sport, here are a few things to keep in mind.
BUILD YOUR SELECTION SLIP IN-STORE OR BETSLIP ONLINE
Whether you’re building a bet in-store, or using the PROLINE App or PROLINE.ca, you’ll be marking all your selects on a slip. In-store, this is known as a “selection slip”, while the online version is called a “betslip.” This slip tells the retailer which events, markets and wager amounts you wish to make. If you’re building your bet at PROLINE.ca or on the PROLINE App, you can save a barcode in your phone that can be scanned in-store to print a ticket. If you’re playing in-store, you can use a paper selection slip provided onsite.
EVENT LISTS & SPORTS AVAILABLE
PROLINE offers betting on various games of hockey, basketball, football, baseball, soccer, car racing, tennis, golf and MMA. If you’re looking for more, both the PROLINE App and PROLINE.ca offer additional sporting events and novelty categories you won’t find in-store.
Depending on whether you’re building a bet online or in-store, the events, odds and markets offered on any particular day may differ, so always check the most recent events list.
2. Choose your market
Once you’ve chosen an event to wager on, it’s time to choose the type of outcome you’ll bet on—otherwise known as a “market.” In PROLINE In-Store, there are three markets listed on your selection slip: ML (Moneyline), PS (Point Spread) and OU (Over/Under).
ML (Moneyline):
Moneyline is the most straightforward of all the markets and is based on who will win a matchup—the favourite or the underdog? Any wager made on the favourite will pay less than a wager made on an underdog.
PS (Point Spread):
In Point Spreads, you choose who you think the winner will be, but not necessarily based on who has the winning score in the game. Instead, the winner is whoever beats or covers the Point Spread, a handicap which is added to the underdog team and deducted from the favourite team. Point Spreads are expressed as a plus (+) for the underdog and a minus (-) for the favourite.
OU (Over/Under):
An Over/Under bet is a prediction made on whether the total number of points scored in a game will go over or under a set total. Sometimes, an Over/Under market might be provided for a more specific result, like the total number of rushing yards completed in a football game, instead of the total combined game score.
3. Mark the predicted outcome
For each market selected, you’ll need to make picks on which team or outcome will win. Here’s how it works for each type of market:
PLAYING A ML (MONEYLINE)
- “1” represents Team 1
- “X” represents a tie
- “2” represents Team 2
PLAYING A PS (POINT SPREAD)
- “1” represents Team 1 after the inclusion of the Point Spread value
- “2” represents Team 2 after the inclusion of the Point Spread value
PLAYING AN OU (OVER/UNDER)
- “O” represents the total score of an event to be “over” the number set
- “U” represents the total score of an event “under” the number set
Making your in-store picks on PROLINE.ca or the PROLINE App
You can get your in-store tickets ready ahead of time by making your picks on PROLINE.ca or the PROLINE App. First, choose the “IN-STORE” option, and build a betslip by selecting the markets and making your picks. When you’re happy with your selections, save your slip and create a digital barcode that can be scanned in-store to produce a ticket.
Want to bet on more than one sport? No problem. With the new PROLINE In-Store you can choose multiple sports on your selection slip or betslip. This is called cross-sport wagering.
4. Mark your ticket wager
Once you’ve made your predictions, you can choose to wager as little as $1, up to a maximum of $100 per bet. After selecting your markets and outcomes, you’ll then mark or enter your wager amount, depending on if you’re using a paper selection slip, or betslips through the PROLINE App or website. Once your slip is ready, hand it to your retailer, and pay the total to receive your ticket.
To calculate the potential payout of your wager, multiply the odds of each of your predicted event outcomes.
Then, multiply the total odds by the amount wagered. If odds have changed since the event was listed, the odds will be bolded on your ticket. Even if the odds change, whatever they were at the time of purchase is what your potential payout is based on.
Set a play budget
Like any form of gambling, setting a play budget when betting on sports can be a good idea. It’s always best to bet with money you can afford to lose.

PUSH
In sports betting, a “Push” means a result where a player neither wins nor loses a bet. In a Moneyline market, a Push would occur when the result is a tie, and no tie option was offered.
In a Point Spread market, it is when the favourite (identified with a “-”) wins by exactly the spread, or the underdog (identified with a “+”) loses by exactly the spread (e.g., if the Spread is -3.0 and the favourite wins by exactly three).
In an Over/Under market, it is when the total points are exactly the Over/Under Line. In the event of a Push, a Selection will be marked as Void.
Instant payouts
